basketball recruiting is dirty...since the incident at VT college coaches (namely Maryland, Pitt and Georgetown) have been contacting Gus Gilchrist to tell him VT wouldn't be a safe place for him and that he should change his decision and file a safety complaint to the NCAA to get out of his LOI...pretty dirty and sleazy to use that incident as a means to land a prospect

Jai Lucas is set to announce his decision sometime this week, it'll come down to UF and UK IMO and i'm gonna go with UF

Patrick Patterson will decide soon as well and has a similar list to Lucas and i'm also gonna guess UF here

I'm hoping Patterson goes to Duke. With Patterson, they're a top 15 team. W/o him, they're barely even top 25. He's the banger inside Duke's missing.

I heard Lucas is going to announce Monday. Also it's been said wherever Lucas goes, so does Patterson. And yes, I do hope too that it is to the Bluegrass.

hokie, get used to it. Chuck Amato used the death of Marlon Barnes(Ray Ray's roommate) against Miami for years. Then the Pata thing, the fight, and Meriweather protecting himself were all used by Les Miles.

Is tech a safe place? Probably so, yes. Is it a place kids might not want to go because of some very very bad memories(that dwarf the incidents above 10 fold), probably so. I wouldnt worry about getting shot at VT, but I wouldnt want to go there either, it would creep me out personally.

If Maryland rolls into Blacksburg this basketball season I'll be there in Maryland gear, not afraid. One of the nicest places I've been, I dont like Tech but it's a really nice school.

VT is done with their '08 class as well unless Ed Davis wants to come on
